Rock Outdoors has unveiled its third location on the shores of Virginia’s Smith Mountain Lake—a dynamic hub that unites a marine dealership, boat servicing center, and retail destination dedicated to the greater outdoors community.

The design emphasizes an elevated customer experience within a minimal, tactile environment that offers warmth and neutrality—a quiet backdrop allowing the brand’s diverse product offerings to take center stage. The architecture introduces a sense of approachability through its inviting main entrance, where a shed roof form softens the building’s scale. Warm wood canopies and detailing carry from exterior to interior, creating a cohesive design language that blurs the threshold between the natural landscape and the retail experience.

At Smith Mountain Lake, Rock Outdoors hums a new tune—where crafted spaces let the spirit of adventure lead.

Nisha Mary Prasad, AIA

Hi! I’m Nisha Mary Prasad. I’m a registered architect in North Carolina and New York, and I’m passionate about creating spaces that feel as good as they look. My work spans architecture, interior design, and urban design—bringing together beauty, function, and a sense of ease.

I like to design spaces that smile back—warm, welcoming environments with a clear point of view and a sense of character.

For the past 15 years, I’ve also taught part-time at architecture and interior design universities and will serve as President of the AIA Winston-Salem Chapter in 2026—continuing my commitment to building community and supporting professional growth.

With more than sixteen years of experience across New York City, Miami, and Winston-Salem, my work includes soulful homes, thoughtful additions, and a range of commercial environments—from workplaces to hospitality and retail. No matter the project, I always begin by listening. By taking the time to understand each client’s goals, I’m able to shape spaces that feel distinctly their own—modern or timeless, refined or relaxed, but always deeply personal and thoughtfully lived-in.
