During my time at A+I—working hand-in-hand with a team of brilliant consultants and fabricators as well as James Turrell’s lighting designers—we crafted an elegantly simple yet quietly radical approach to shaping a two-story Ganzfeld installation. With solid-surface panels enveloping the exterior and GFRC forming the seamless interior, the piece invites viewers into a soft, horizonless field of color. The intention was not just to build a space, but to create a contemplative environment where depth dissolves, perception slips, and the immersive glow at the heart of Turrell’s vision can fully take hold.

We built a glowing, depthless dreamscape where color swallows the edges and contemplation begins.

Nisha Mary Prasad, AIA

Hi! I’m Nisha Mary Prasad. I’m a registered architect in North Carolina and New York, and I’m passionate about creating spaces that feel as good as they look. My work spans architecture, interior design, and urban design—bringing together beauty, function, and a sense of ease.

I like to design spaces that smile back—warm, welcoming environments with a clear point of view and a sense of character.

For the past 15 years, I’ve also taught part-time at architecture and interior design universities and will serve as President of the AIA Winston-Salem Chapter in 2026—continuing my commitment to building community and supporting professional growth.

With more than sixteen years of experience across New York City, Miami, and Winston-Salem, my work includes soulful homes, thoughtful additions, and a range of commercial environments—from workplaces to hospitality and retail. No matter the project, I always begin by listening. By taking the time to understand each client’s goals, I’m able to shape spaces that feel distinctly their own—modern or timeless, refined or relaxed, but always deeply personal and thoughtfully lived-in.
